The Ruins

Golden sunset rays relecting the mansion
THE RUINS - Talisay, Negros Occidental

Trivia:

The RUINS of the mansion of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson was built in loving memory of his deceased wife Maria Braga after death in 1911. The mansion of Italianate architecture, was designed to be a monument of their enduring love affair. In the eve of World War II in 1942, the mansion was torched by the guerilla fighters and was burning for 3 days, leaving behind reminders of a glorious past. (This was written somewhere near the place.)

a. HOW TO GET THERE?
From Bacolod City, we rode a jeepney going to Talisay City jeepney terminal. The fare was only P7 each as of March 2016. When we got there, we rode a multicab. By the way, we rented the vehicle because it was the only way to get there. That means to say, you can't go there just by riding a passenger jeepney or multicab alone. You either have to go there by a private vehicle or rent a multicab. We were four so we paid P150 in all for one ride going the place. We told the driver that we'll just text him if we're finished exploring the place so he could fetch us going back to the terminal.

b. ENTRANCE FEES
We arrived there at around 4:30pm. My friend told me that it's really beautiful to see the sunset reflecting the ruins so we were all excited to see. Since we were all adults, we paid P95 each.

After paying the entrance fee, I took this picture outside the entrance gate. So fascinating!

c. What you need to see first before going to the mansion.
Alright! We didn't get straight to "The Ruins". We saw this area just near the entrance so we went there out of our curiousity. There were some stonehenge like structures here.

Just in front of the stonehenge like structures, we saw this pond with some fountains and some fish on it.

It was a little bit hot even though it was around 5pm. I loved the green grass.

Just liked the Stonehenge, the RUINS seemed to have a mystery.

d. The Ruins
When I stood up in front of this mansion, I felt amazed. It was huge.

Shing and Chelle were taking some pictures.
