Top Things to do When in Vigan City

2015 is a remarkable year because Vigan City has been declared as part of the new seven wonder cities in the world. It is the capital of Ilocos Sur and is also a third class city in the Philippines. It is a World Heritage Site. Their houses are of Spanish colonial architecture which remained intact until now.
From Partas Bus Terminal in Pasay City, Metro Manila, we took the took the midnight bus going to Vigan City (price as of May 2015 was Php 665.00). The trip lasted about 8 hours. We arrived in the capital city of Ilocos Sur around 8:30 in the morning and we looked for a place to stay. We inquired some hotels but most of them were fully booked already so we asked some locals where to stay. They directed us to some transient rooms which was a walking distance away from Calle Crisologo. When we got there, the owner told us that they still had some rooms available. There was an air-conditioned room which costed about P2000 (as of May 2015) which was good for four people only. Since we only wanted to stay for a night there, we decided to take the non-airconditioned room which costed about P1000 for four people. It has two electric fans.

Here are  some of the things you should do when staying in Vigan City:

1. Rent a tricycle for your one day city tour.
We rented this tricycle for P600 (good for four people) for one whole day.

Dada's Carinderia is serving an affordable meal if you are saving some money.

Different kinds of animals are to be found here like ponies, deers, camel, ducks, snakes, squirrels, tigers, birds and many more.

4. Watch an animal show inside the Baluarte.

5. Buy some souvenirs.
 Keychains, bags, purses, etc.

If you are stressed and you wanted a place to relax, then this might be perfect for you. Variety of plants are to be found here. They also have some chairs for you to sit on while roaming around this quite big garden.

Have your hands get dirty as you make your first clay pot.

Trying loom weaving for the first time.
